This one was an easy buy. Chateau Ste. Michelle's 50th Anniversary Cab? You know they are doing this one well, and boy lemme tell ya. Washington Cab has been a good go-to for me ever since my time managing the little SC Wine Company (worth a visit if you're ever in Orange County). This Cab shows the same earthy fruit qualities that I, as a lover of such styles, actively seek in my personal wine sessions. Tobacco and blueberry on the nose. Full-bodied, showing blackberry, espresso and black cherry with oak tannin. Smooth through the finish. A great addition to your seasonal soirees. 91 Points - JZ Nov '18

Winning a Best Buy designation from Wine & Spirits is all in a day’s work for this quintessential Washington State Cabernet from a winery that nearly single handedly made Washington wines “a thing.”

Ste Michelle’s 50th anniversary bottling sports a collectible table for this special release. The wine also received glowing remarks from the Wine Enthusiast. “Brings a lot of appeal with a real sense of freshness to the fruit flavors,” writes WE, concluding: “provides plenty of enjoyment.”
From a super successful and unusually ripe vintage, this blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Syrah, 1% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot will please Cal Cab lovers and Northwest wine fans in equal measure. As in vintages past, this 2015 enjoyed a slow and gentle fermentation and a long 14 months aging in a combination of French and American oak (under 1/3 new barrels), which allows for the purity of this cassis and cherry-scented beauty to take center stage and hold it over a long, seamless and winningly structured finish.

·    2015 is a special year for this wine and for Ch. Ste Michelle, as this vintage marks the 50th anniversary bottling and one-half century of delicious wines from this iconic Washington State producer.

·    The 2015 vintage was one of the warmest growing seasons on record in Washington State. Overall, 2015 saw optimal ripening across varieties and yielded outstanding wines throughout the region.

·    Sourced from Columbia Valley vineyards in eastern Washington including Ste Michelle’s estate vineyards: Cold Creek, Canoe Ridge Estate and Indian Wells.

·    Ste Michelle’s estate-owned Columbia Valley vineyards sit in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains and unlike other parts of the state receive just 6-8 inches of rain a year. This appellation is known for its warm, sunny days and cool evening temperatures and for the climate’s affinity for Bordeaux varietals.
